I recently sold my Mesa Boogie 1516, which is a 15", 10", 2x6" and a horn:

Its the best sounding cab I've ever played through, but its impractically large, and my mini rig sounds almost as good (and just as loud). If you get a chance to try one out I highly recommend it.
I've been working on a bunch of electronic stuff, so I picked up an MPK49:

It's pretty great, but the default mapping for reason doesn't work very well.
I think my next purchase will be some studio monitors. I'm currently running it through a dodgy hi-fi system, which is no good.

The problem with what I'm trying to do is reproduce that low F's fundamental note, and not many cabs are capable, Th PJB stuff, fEARful, Bag End Infra subs seem to be my options - without remortgaging my house.

I got four Fender Gretas for $132 each after I applied the hustle (retail: $200). It's a criminally overlooked amp that I expect to make me some serious paper in about 5 years. I recommend picking one up right now. It sounds awesome, has a line out and an iPod jack. Low cost tube powered computer speaker, killer low watt amp for the living room, or tube preamp that'll make any amp sound like a Fender.

Interesting! I'm not sure how they can claim two watts off a 12at7 but I'm also not the tuber expert. Anyways I went to google images and I typed in "the new icarus fall" and this was the only picture that came up:

I forgot to mention it has a speaker out too.

Sweet! A tiny amp and a 4x12 can be alot of fun.
So I built me a clone of Catalinbread's Naga Viper and it is the best thing ever. It's my favorite booster since the SHO. Comparing the two is like apples and oranges though. The NV is a silicon Rangemaster with added gain control. The original RM was fixed at maximum. You can also adjust the range of the boost whereas the old one was just an icepicky treble boost.
I also picked up a Lab Series L4 for a hundred bucks. 200w solid state bass amp. It fucking slays for guitar and will be riding in the trailer from now on as my backup head.

I want a guitar.
I am leaning towards a '78 "The Paul" for obvious reasons.
You hosers know anything about it?
-
Are you just learning, or do you know how to play?

I think Hub was the last TNler that played many Gibson guitars. You might want to ask him.
I personally avoid them. Gibson is one of those names that everyone wants top dollar for, despite there being a dozen brands doing the same thing. You'll pay a premium just for the name.
EDIT: Ignore the rest of this if you already know how to play
or if you're mrtolongdidn'tread
IMO i'd find the cheapest thing that you enjoy holding to start with. So if you decide it isn't your thing you aren't out a lot of money.
But on the other hand, a great guitar can be inspiring and help encourage you to learn. And as long as you buy used, and don't over pay, you can probably flip a gibson for about what you have in it. A US made gibson will always be worth something to someone.
Ephiphone is gibson's import brand if you wanted to see if they produced something you like. It would be a cheaper alternative, but the resell will be worse unless you get a hell of a deal in the first place.
