Because, I mean, this won't have any affect at all on PSP vs. DS. The PSP being crushed in Japan doesn't matter, because you still have a long list of Western developers releasing an even longer list of great games for it.

I really dont care what platform they buy. It bothers me when they buy crap like Brain Age and generic JRPG 20384912580915 because that determines in large part what options I will have to play in 2009. UGnG has moved like 30,000 copies, how many more faithful 2.5D updates will we be getting in the future? JSR was a total flop there, I think it sold about 15,000 copies, how many more games like that have we gotten? And dont count that crap Koei one. Oh yea, 0. Meanwhile there will be tons more fucking Tamagotchi and garbage Mario spin-offs. Ugh.

But now what we get from there are endless Dynasty Warrior games, worthless tedious JRPGs, and other ultra-casual horse shit. And when I look at that list I know why. It's just depressing.

Of course, I saw the top 10 from Best Buy on GAF yesterday, 1-7 were Madden, so maybe we're not much better. Oh well, there are plenty of classics for me to enjoy. I should be getting my copy of R-Types soon....

But Japanese love shooters, and if not for them, there would be no Radiant Silverguns, Raiden's, etc.

Basically, we have the same problems that the Japanese have. The majority of the gamers buy crap.

But then you got companies like Compile or Irem ditching it... or Raizing.

Maybe Im just too old and the industry is getting too big for farts like me. :cry:

Shooters are pretty niche nowadays in Japan.

Like many other genres, they pretty much got dominated by RPGs over the past decade and more recently Japan's top-sellers with the exception of NSMB are non-games like Brain Training.
