The last Tony Hawk I played was THPS2 and I am seriously scared of trying it again because of all the crap in THUG2, THAW, etc. I was thinking THPS4, or maybe 2X on the Xbox.

2X is actually a lot better than I expected it to be. It's basically just all the levels from part 1 and 2, with a few new ones crammed into one game running under the thps2 engine. It's a fun game to play just to kill some time with, that's all well and good, but the current game engine is just light years ahead of it. It feels like your skating in slow motion compared to newer games. As for starting off with part 4, that's not a bad idea, most people consider it to be the best in the series, and it's a great improvement over part 3, plus you can probably get it for less than $10 these days.
any word on whether this is going to be as "thuggish" as the last few. My son loves the gameplay, but I'm not thrilled with how "mature" the games became after the 4th one.
Has anyone downloaded the demo on xbox live? I've seen videos of it, and I've read things that leads me to think that a lot of the haters might be happier to know that the new game is a lot less like the last few games, and supposedly more like a blend of thps2 and 3.
I'm not really pleased with that since I like the newer style, but whatever I'll still play it eventually.
I've gotten the demo, having a lot of fun with it. I've somewhat been keeping up with the gameplay updates, so going right into tricks and combos was really easy. The "Nail the Trick" slo-mo thing can get really engrossing, I found myself trying to insert it into every combo, numerous times.
I have never repeatedly played a demo as much as I have repeatedly played the Project 8 demo.
Day ONE.
PS: Wow, what a Jemery post...
