Fuck yes it is.
It's better than KotOR in terms of combat and has story and debth to back it all up.

I thought Jade Empire was better than KotoR in terms of combat, but the rest of the game was a muddled mess. Kotor actually took its time to develop the story and characters with wide open worlds and side quests scattered throughout the game. Jade Empire on the other hand just felt like a much smaller game and it seemed like they tried to shove too much story and side quests into such a small game. Thus, none of the characters in Jade Empire seemed as "fleshed out" to me, and the game just wasn't as fun as KotoR
All this being said, Jade Empire is far from a BAD game. However, its just strictly AVERAGE as far as what Bioware can do. I think they just tried to do way too much with the game, and it seemed like it would have benefited from more development time. Its definitely a game that I would actually like to see a sequel for because there was so much wasted potential with the first game.
In My Opinion:
KotoR = 9/10
Jade Empire = 7/10
I was reading this thread and shaking my fist in the air thinking 'these fuckers are crazy!' until the last few posts chimed in with some sense.
Jade Empire was awesome.
If this SE is improved over the original JE as much as Fable TLC was over Fable, it will be pretty awesome. Fable TLC was great on the PC.
Jade Empire sucked shit. I've loved every game Bioware made until that point. The combat was too simple, and it was way too fucking linear.
Honestly, Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is better for running around as a Chinese guy and kicking dudes in the face.
My questions:
Does Jade Empire have the same kinds of glitches as KotR?
Is Jade Empire worth playing after something like Oblivion?
I don't think I ever encountered a glitch, and I also don't think Jade Empire is worth playing after having played anything else by Bioware.
I think if someone has never played a Bioware game, they might get hard over the combat system and the dialogue options, but otherwise, it all feels really dumbed down.

I'm really glad they aren't constrained by shitty D&D rules anymore.
I really liked Jade as I played through it, but unlike Kotor didn't feel the desire to play through it again as a dark character. Would agree that it was good, just not as good as it could have been. Far from being not worth playing at all though.
