For people complaining abut only one controller, would yuo not buy a second one anyways? Every system that has come out has only come with one controller, and most people don't complain when they have to buy a second one to play the multilayer game they get at launch.

Monkey Ball and Wario Ware Wii better just use the Wiimote, or else my cousins are going to have take turns when I visit them this Thanksgiving.
Japan should be paying more than us. With the 360 essentially non-existent, Nintendo could charge $300 or $400 there and it would still sell well against the PS3.
The Wii is more powerful than the Xbox. It also has a lot of additional features beyond the wiimote, such as wifi and flash. $250 with Wii Sports is a little steep, but bearable.
I'd say it's at least as powerful as Xbox, which is $150 and still not turning a profit, iirc. And according to MS, wi-fi is worth $100. So based on the competitor's ecomomics, you're getting a good deal. That was in jest. Partially.
Honestly, I think the major promptor of the US price was the PSP. It's value pack approach didn't seem to hinder launch sales much at all, and that wasn't even a holiday release where people would just have bought it regardless. At least with Wii you get an actual game instead of a bunch of chintzy accessories for that extra $50. Yeah, Nintendo's fronting on their "bring gaming to everyone" message, but it's pretty hard for a business to see a guaranteed profit avenue and say "no thanks".
And controller pricing is nuts, I agree. Mote & chuk should be packed together for no more than $50.

Retro fixed the control on Metroid Prime 3. The potential of the wiimote for FPS has been realized.
