I've let today's news sink in for about 8 hours now. I think Nintendo's announcement has actually increased the chance that I get a PS3 in 2006. Those chances may not be real high still, but the Wii's chances are really low.
Damn Nintendo had a chance of pulling off a outstanding launch, instead it's merely Ok. A few things:
1. I'm impressed with the third party support so far, both the N64 and GC had weak Japanese launches and Wii has like 20 exclusive (thus far) titles in the first month of launch. If the system is lock-out free I'd be happy to wait for Prime and Mario and try out some of the oddball stuff coming out. Any clues what Nerco Neasia is?
2. $60 third party games are unacceptable, Nintendo themselves lauded the Wii for it's economical properties there's really no excuse they couldn't put a cap on it.
3. So do you get a Gamecube controller shell with the system? I'm not seeing it and considering Nintendo's million seller baby Smash Brothers only uses it that's a rip-off.

The only thing I bought is a second controller, but still everyone was bitching like "OMG if you get 2 controllers and a play and charge kit for each plus a headset and a vga cable you'll be paying like $600 for a 360."
All the same stuff that's happening in this thread.
Who the fuck buys 3 controllers, I mean seriously Cow. That's $150.
