Certainly, and I never said that not being the man for the position has ever really stopped anyone from being elected (George W. Bush). This was more a 'ought to be' conversation rather than a 'will be' one.

You have to remember, Tom Delay spent a lot of time and money to carve Texas in such a way that the GOP will dictate policy there for decades. Perry is in a safe position, so he champions whatever cause they tell him to and the legistlature just serves as the choir to say "Amen!" before putting on the rubber stamp. I would love for there to be a major shake-up in Texas politics (hell, any state for that matter) but I personally feel you have to take a broader view of things. Okay, you get Kinky elected...Then what?

To be totally honest, politics aside, I'd love to see Kinky as a governor for the absurdity factor alone. Especially when he appoints Willie Nelson as his energy czar.

He's the closest thing to resurecting and electing Bill Hicks.... whom I want to write in for Mayor of Houston.
