I suppose, after the debacle that was the Silent Hill HD Collection, it's not a big deal that we never got the ZOE Collection that had been rumored. Maybe with a new one in the works they'll decide to do it after all. Maybe they'll even sort out that a proper series archive should be thorough and include the GBA game. And maybe it'll come with a free unicorn.

Who said we weren't getting the ZoE HD collection? Comes out in October in Japan so I assume we'll get it later.

The Silent Hill HD collection was based off the beta code of the game, which is all Konami had lying around. That explains the missing textures and general shittiness.

I can understand source being lost to old 80s era games because they didnt know any better. But by the mid 90s companies saw that there was value to catalog games and they should have paid better attention to their files.

Yup.. which is why I couldn't believe when I heard this happened to Panzer Dragoon Saga (I still think it isn't true and they said that to get people off their back). Now why would you still have beta and not final code?

The other, better Sony HD remakes were made by reverse engineering the code right off the actual PS2 discs, then optimized to run on the PS3. It sounds like it's a lot more work, but it obviously pays off. Just need to not subcontract it out to a company that sucks.

The SH one really pisses me off. I really only get one shot at this, it's not like Konami is going to put in the money to do it again for free or anything. This is what we have now for SH, and it sucks.
