Biggest Gaming Blunder

So, what's your biggest gaming blunder, or "slap-your-forehead-doh!" gaming experience?

-with the advent of Memory Cards, I'm sure you've all saved over a file, or loaded a previous file when you meant to save (thus, erasing everything you just did). This has happened to me once or twice...

-However, my biggest gaming boner was on Data East's NES game "Karnov". After countless hours, my friend and I had finally made it to the final stage (this game has no save function). First go at the last stage, of course, we fail, but when presented with the then familiar option to "continue" or "reset", guess what my fumble-fingered friend selected.... After that, we just resigned to *not* finish that game...

Heh. perhaps it would've been best just to label it as a blunder, so you don't give people the wrong idea...you sicko. :jest:

I forget how I did it, but I somehow managed to delete my CvS save file... After earning all those stupid things in the shop (half of which were worthles) by playing Arcade and getting incredible small amounts of points (you know what I mean)... Ugh.

I wanted to destroy something quite valuable.


Later I got the NGPC-DC link cable and re-earned lots of stuff in 1/10 the time...

Probably my biggest blunder would be loading my Mars Matrix file, with like everything but BG graphics and 5 artworks unlocked, then somehow loading a blank file and saving over it :mad: :mad:

Other than that, it was something that happened that made me hate any and all 3rd party accessories, I was like 40 hours into XenoGears, I tried to save in the sewer place, it said "Error" and all my files from the card became corrupted (Gran Turismo with massive unlockageness, Time Crisis, San Fransico Rush stuff, some more than I spent valuable time on, all gone because I bought an off brand memory card :sweat: )

That one time in Super Mario Bros. where I tried to jump but instead just ran and fell into the pit. Wow, was my face red.

Just happened recently.

Had Lodoss War worked up all the way to Kardis. I was just uncovering the Cold Caves, had more mithril than ever, and had pumped well over 100 hours in it.

At E3, I won a free DC GameShark. One day, I was messing with it, just seeing what was actually on the disc. So after having my 'fun' with it, I picked the whole 'no codes' option and opened the lid, and popped in Lodoss War. Right before though it said that the GameShark was saving a file onto the VMU. Anyway, a few seconds later I realized that the GS had saved OVER my entire Lodoss file. I have no friggin clue why, because it was in Slot A, the GS was supposed to save to Slot B, and not to mention there was enough room on the first VMU to have both Lodoss and the GS file.

100 hours gone...I dunno if I can do that again.

Well, this wasn't really my fault...

Final Fantasy for NES. Got all the way to the final boss. Got beat, so I decided to let it set for a while. Somehow my battery got erased. Therefore...all that time and effort wasted.

This one is my fault...

Pool of Radiance for C64. Had a fun time with the game. I had my guys leveled up pretty well, but I wasn't very far yet. But still...I accidentally formatted the C Disc, which was the main disc of Pryum (sp?) and the main disc to the game. That pissed me off.

But otherwise I haven't done anything too badly.

Buying an Interact memory card. Buying Phantasy Star III... for $80... in 2000.

Yeah. What makes it worse is that I chose it over Shining Force 2. At least I got Herzog Zwei as well.
