Gamestop sux

I live near where Game Express used to be, snatched a boxed copy of Breath of Fire II there for pretty cheap back in the day.

I tend to avoid Gamestops and EB's nowadays, because like Dole said, in our area there are literally dozens of places to find games, etc.

Not if they didn't have it in stock.

They only games anyone should reserve are super "under the radar" titles, usually for the GBA (such as Robot Taisen, God Hand, and Summon Night, just to name a few recent ones). I think each store in my district got maybe 2 or three each, but I can't speak for others' districts i guess.

That reason and limited reserve crap I guess, but usually I give that out at time of purchase to the first people who reserve it.

Gamestop is very annoying.

They always try & ram Game Informer, Pre-orders, & used games down my throat.

I bought RE 4 for GC about 7 months ago for $19.99 (new copy). They kept trying to push this used copy on me that was $17.99, they kept trying & couldn't understand why I wouldn't buy it used.

Was the same crap last week, (same gamestop store) I bought Fire Emblem & Paper Mario for the GC for $19.99 each, and they almost made fun of me because I wanted them new. I finally had to insist that I preferred to buy NEW copies, and someone made a joke of how I must like opening them up from the wrapper.

What is it with them & pushing their used copies? Any employees here, do they get a commission on the sale of used games?

They make every cent of their money on used games. You pay 17.99, they bought it from some guy for 4 dollars.

Those numbers only matter to corporate. The SA only wants to sell used to boost the stores used sales, since we have a daily/weekly quota, and have a good chance to shove the Game Informer down your throat.

My GS/EB experiences have always been fine as well. However, I chat alot about games, so I know a fair amount of associates (usually SMs & ASMs) at each of the 4-5 in my area. Once somebody greets me by name, I don't have to worry about the other associates bugging me about pre-orders, GI, used games etc. It's nice, cause I hate being bothered about the same shit over-and-over. Such as BB trying to jam their game replacement guarantee down your throat.

Once I get a real job, I will never shop at one of these stores ever again. For all the reasons Dole and others brought up.

Fresh Meadows Gamestop is always rock. Also, there's a hidden one in College Point near Target that is also rock.

Also, you must live like down the street from me or something. Wait a sec... You THOUGHT you knew what was in my car. YOU BROKE INTO MY CAR AND MOVED MY CD'S AROUND LOOKING FOR F-CHAN J-POP!

It's always weird when people are talking about places i know on TNL. It's like i might run into one of you jerks in real life and not even know it.

OR PERHAPS ONE IS ALREADY IN YOUR LIFE. (btw TNL should never infiltrate the real world. I know it's Halloween, but that thought is truly horrifying.)

I sold Rocca a GBA and didn't give him his free game. I was an asshole about it afterwards.
