I agree that the games are a bit overpriced; however, I still think the Virtual Console has some massive potential. Whether or not Nintendo takes full advantage of it is yet to be seen. Keep in mind that most people who play video games in today's market are not like you and I and have no idea about emulation. And if they are aware of emulation, it's only something that one of their "hardcore gaming buddies who is really PC savvy" can do.Quote:

Finally got to try the Wii at Gamestop. I love the remote so far. It feels perfect. That said though, whatever NOA employee decided Excite Truck was an ideal game to put on the demo disc to create in store interest needs a slap in the face. I got the hang of accelerating and steering for the most part, but boosting and corners felt dodgy. It's just not an interesting game so far. I have zero interest in ever playing it again.
They should have put Wii sports on the demo disc. Or why not even a taste of Zelda, Mario or Metroid? I mean, come on. Create that crucial in store interest, Nintendo. The media and Nintendo world shoppers have gotten AAA demos for awhile now and that was well before the launch, and you give prospective customers in other locations...Excite Truck? Blech.
I also found the Mii customization kind of limited. It's lame you can't (currently?) change their clothes for one thing. System menus are beautful.

I picked up Bonk's Adventure tonight, what a waste of 600 points. I never owned a TG16 and I remember seeing Bonk on the covers of magazines as a kid so I grabbed it; it's just a stiff generic 2d platformer with 1989 Genesis graphics. By the way, why pay 8 bucks for Sonic 1 when Sonics 1-4 plus some other good games like Ristar can be had on the Cube Sonic Mega Collection for $10? So far the VC is a novel dissapointment.
That said, the interface of the VC is real slick. I like the menu systems and game info screens, they're really well done. Now give us 60FPS 480p online Goldeneye!
You're nuts. Bonk is a classic. Head slamming enemies is tight and the nuclear meat power ups rock. The series also has some of the best 'toon facial animations and quirky character art pre-Earthworm Jim.Quote:

Good luck on the hope that any VC game will be online multiplayer. I mean shit, Bomberman with no online support? Gimme a fucking break.

I want to know 2 things:
1) Does CoD 3 on Wii look as good as CoD 3 Xbox (not Xbox360, just xbox.)
2) Is it fun at all?
That's probably because Zelda is freakin' impossible to find at this point.
