Best (and Worst) of Licensed Games

Licensed games won't go away anytime soon (seeing as how well Spider Man The Movie The Game did). So what are your picks for some of the best and worst games based on a movie, tv show, comic, or book?

Sega and Konami have done some great work with their licenses. Some that come to mind:

Spider Man (Genesis) & Spider Man (Arcade)

They were awesome in different ways. Spider Man (Arcade) had some cool zoom in/zoom out transitions and 4 players! The bosses were huge, I still remember playing this game at my local Pizza Hut.

X-Men/Simpsons/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (and Turtles in Time) (all Arcade)

God, the Simpsons game had funny cameos and great action! And X-Men had that 2-screen setup! And Turtles we discussed before..

Batman: The Animated Series game for SNES was incredible too, it felt just like the cartoon.

Capcom has done a good job too with the Marvel license.

Crappy Licenses:

Batman Forever - Acclaim managed to botch this one up SO bad... I abhorred the control scheme (up was jump, it played like MK Mythologies).

What about you guys?

There's an inexhaustible supply of poor licensed games, but I'll mention the one I've remembered as being the worst one of them all: The Rocketeer.

My favorite licensed games have almost ALWAYS been Disney games, whether they be made by Capcom (Duck Tales), Sega (Castle of Illusion) or whoever. Capcom also had a real gem in the Willow arcade game. And of course Konami's Ninja Turtle games (I even like the first one!).

Of the future, I can't wait until Kingdom Hearts comes out...

Oops, I missed the best one ever made - Doki Doki Panic - Nintendo, FDS.

Jeez, there are so many crappy licensed games its hard to list them all, but the good ones stood out. Capcom was really on a roll when they had the Disney license in the 8bit-16bit days. Games like Duck Tales, and the Micky games of course for SNES and Genesis. Virgin did a good job with Jungle Book, very fun game played a little like Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, but better. Batman for the NES is one hell of a platformer. Goldeneye 007 is a fantastic game as well, the multiplayer was really fun, but so was the Single player. It fallowed the movie very well. I think the Spider-Man The Movie games stink, and are very unfun.

Aliens vs. Predator on PC is quite possibly the greatest licensed game ever. A lot of people complained about no in-level save, but that just means you have to actually learn the levels and what you're doing. Each of the three races was great to play as and just like what they should be (although the Alien was a bit too slippery at times), it captured the mood perfectly (especially with the music off, so all you could hear was ambient effects and the occasional beep on your motion tracker). This game scared the crap out of me so much, it was nerve-wracking to play as the Marine.

Some of the Star Wars games are wonderful and movie-perfect (especially TIE Fighter, Jedi Knight II, X-Wing Alliance, Rogue Leader), while others are decent to crap (Yoda's Adventures, oh joy).

Hey now! Judge Dredd wasn't horrible, I actually found it quite fun, I got up to the nearly the end (where you fight at the Statue of Liberty) and I couldn't figure out how to destroy those giant robots...

The rest I agree though...
