That sounds like a sequel to me. It doesn't have to be Same Exact Storyline Part 2 which confirms what it looked like to me in the trailer. I'm cool with that.

There's nothing wrong with there being more Final Fantasies, all it really means is that the same teams of people have been making the games and establishes that. All it simply does is establish a reference point for people to know who they're dealing with and what to expect. Games like Madden may as well have a name change instead of being named after each year because zomg it's madden 11 in my books?!

And VIII is fine if you could stand the horribly annoying stock system. Everything else about the game was fine, whereas VII, everything was fine, no annoying stock system, enjoyable story, not a perfect game, but an ideal way to get people into the RPG genre. In which it truly did so for many many people.

I'm stoked for FFIII this week though.

Really, if Square wasn't making a ton of Final Fantasy games, they'd be making a ton of RPGs amongst their three or whatever teams with different settings and characters and gameplay systems.

I love that i just bought a DS, and now this FF game is being created for it, as well as FFIII is coming out on the 14th.. :D

I will buy it regardless, i mean, i am sure that i have played worse games.
