In addition to derailing threads, it is this kind of bizarre, mindless argument of pure tedium just for the sake of personal ego to the point of strange eccentricity which is why Recap was permanently banned from Shmups back in summer 2005. I was a mod at the time. Me and the other mods would warn him until an admin would step in. Several times he literally dared our head admin to ban him until he finally got his wish. haha
I remember one thread dealing with ports/emulation, how it's effected by the hardware, ect. One or two of our members with vast emulation and hardware knowledge found a flaw in one of his statements. Instead of saying something like "Oh...OK. Thanks for clarifying. That little bit you added about that PCB's inner workings and how it effected the rom/system port certainly is interesting," he instead...acted like they were idiots and opted to try and turn the thread into a flame war.
He also has a fetish for popping up in Dreamcast related threads. I remember him fighting with DC fans, insisting there was almost zero chance Under Defeat would be released on the system not long before the announcement. Because, as he so distinctly put it over and over again: "Not likely. The Dreamcast is being buried."
Me: "Well, yes I agree, the Dreamcast is essentially a dead system. But Naomi games are still being released on it now and then so it's not out of the question that Under Defeat might get a port since Border Down did. Right?"
Recap: "Not likely, the Dreamcast is being buried."
Me (after the above statement was repeated in somewhat Borg-like fashion several times):
".................."
So it doesn't surprise me Yossy-gate is still going strong.
