Yeah, I don't know how good it would be for the UFC if every championship fight is a Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. That only works for a year or two until you're out of Ultimate matchups. But it seems like that fight is happening no matter what.

If this is going to be an actual card, I'm starting to save right now for tix to Vegas in October.

You gotta believe CroCop is going to demolish the Maine-iac. And an Iceman/Wanderlei match would be AWESOME.

Anyone catch TUF tonight? Oy, props to Manny for another upset, but could it be any more boring? He flipped into lead blanket mode and rode that fight out.

I agree. I felt like I was watching one of the early UFC events [Gracie-Shamrock era] where all they did was stay on the ground for fifteen minutes doing nothing. I was disappointed by Lauzon's performance as well as Gamburyan's. Lauzon for not acting sooner and Gamburyan for basically laying and praying [I did like that standing sweep take down though]. Very boring indeed.

The Diaz-Maynard fight was better but Maynard seemed to do exactly what he did against Melendez. Charge in, take down and punch without thinking which caused him to gas. I enjoyed Diaz's constant submission attempts which eventually paid off. I was predicting Diaz would win because Maynard is still in wrestler mode.

The finale should be pretty good. I see Diaz winning due to his better jiu-jitsu skills.

I was disappointed to see Lauzon (my fav on the show) lose. I think he's got a better skill-set than Manny and honestly believe he'd win the majority of 10 fights with him.

Okami had Franklin in the 3rd but you have to credit Rich for keeping his cool and getting out of trouble. Okami gave away the first two rounds from near-complete inactivity, though. It was a disappointing main event but more than made up for by Griffin-Guida.

the usual place i go to normally draws a pretty good crowd. having the show at an odd time (and no title fights) really showed how fairweather fans can be. my group were the only people there for the fights.

We Tivo'd the HD version and watched it at the regular time last night. It looked pretty impressive. The two headliner fights weren't very exciting, just doing whatever it takes to shut down their opponent's game, like Koscheck v Diego or any Tim Sylvia fight. I went 6-0 on picking the winner of each fight. The Guida v Tyson Griffin fight was the obvious standout. Overall the free Fight-Night thing was a way better event.

im pretty excited to see the upcoming Koscheck/St Pierre fight as well as Rashad/Ortiz.

When the hell did this air?

Last week there was two eps of the ultimate fighter on in a row.

I had no idea either and missed the second one too.

I don't remember them saying anything about it on commercials or anything the week before or the week it happened either. -_-
