Due out in a couple of days in japan for the PS3 and spring(maybe) for the rest of the world on xbox 360 as well.
Gametrailers has a really cool trailer up now with lots of gameplay footage, the enviroments look a bit bland at times but it's a day one for me.
I did a search btw and found eight threads with AC in them and only one getting more than ten replies (13) so I have big hopes for this one ;)
Truth, this title is showing more promise than the AC games have in years.
I always wanted to like this series but never could. Borrowed some of the original ones on the PS and didn't like the controls and feel of it, later on picked up AC2 (or was it 3?) when it was $20 and couldn't make myself play past the first couple levels. I like everything about them except the actual playing part, it was too clunky or something like that.
This one looks faster paced so maybe I'll end up giving it another shot.
Does this one have you accepting contracts or is it some bullshit "arena" game again?
If they ever came out with a serious Armored core game i'd play it. Honestly the game has sucked in many small ways that combine into a mass of suck that just killed a really good concept. If only they spent as much time polishing the game as they did their cgs.
They're saying this one's faster playing.
The initial media they released for this game was jaw-dropping, subsequent stuff hasn't looked as good but it's still definitely on my list of stuff to watch.
If these guys took things in a ZOE-type direction in terms of combat speed they'd really be on to something - leave Chrome Hounds as the tank-fest. But it looks like things are a little more fluid than before, but not a night and day difference over the older stuff.
Faster play could be good, but then again it could be another sonic 360 (fast = stupidly impossible to control)
Here's hoping they also leave the option for tanks as well as ZOE mechs
Yeah, I fall into the camp of, thought Armored Core was cool, but couldn't get into it. All the mechs seemed, I dunno... depressed? They didn't have the will to cause destruction with rockets and laser beams. Sad.
Obviously, I don't want another Phantom Crash no, wait, I do out of the next Armored Core, but just making the mechs a bit more fun to control will go a long way into allowing me to enjoy the game.
