I would like to add getting my gnome mage to 58 in WoW before Sunday (currently 55), so after I start working, I can do instances with my friends.
As well as put some quality time into each game I got. Glad I have this week off!

Yes, I forgot to mention, feel free to edit or quote your original goals using the handy checkmark gif I included in my first post. Here it is again: http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/a...1&d=1166234960 It's fun.
I've been doing fairly well with my goals. And I still have a week left of vacation. A couple games, though, I just *cannot* get into for the life of me. Like Shenmue 2. Ugh, I loved the first one, but I'm just bored and annoyed to hell with everything in this one. Hopefully, I'll come around. I think I disliked the first Shenmue, too, until about half-way through.
I'm pissed off at the Terrorist Node part of RS:V on Realistic, so Lego Star Wars has taken its place for the time-being. That part is complete horseshit.
I plan on using a cheatcode to get through the fabled 'inital 3 boring hours' of zelda:tp. If its any good beyond that point I might put some time into the game.
Also, I'm currently trying to complete Irem's 'Subrebellion' using Action Replay.
I might boot up Bully and play it for a few minutes, since I already purchased it.
Otherwise I hope to clear out my collection by auctioning off a few dustcollectors. Incl. all my horizontal shmups.

Compass: How did you like Arx Fatalis?
Cheat codes, dakidski? Say it isn't so...
Arx is cool. I only played an hour or so, but I'm diggin' it. It's a little raw, not super polished, and showing its age. I could definitely see the drawing of the magic spells growing tiresome by the end (you have to trace patterns in the air with your mouse to cast each and every spell). Still, you know I like these kinds of games, and they're pretty hard to screw up.
Very raw, part of the charm. Again, its all about the retro adventure atmosphere. I love the graphics style and the color design, so very vibrant. Somehow it has similarities in the design to Wizardry on ps2.
Wasn't there a way to assign spells so you wouldn't have to draw then each time? I remember there was some shortcut... Dig that humming sound when you draw the rune spells though! If you know any more in this genre of games, please let the world know.
I use cheatcodes to get maximum value out of my games before I resell them. Just to check out if I was missing anything. In the case of King's Field IV I had no option but cheatcodes. That game is insane, even with codes. There is no logic whatsoever to the level design. Satanic mazes...
Ah, I didn't realize you'd played Arx already. Did you finish it? You can queue up a spell for casting later, but it disappears as soon as you cast it. So you still have to draw the symbols once for every time you want the spell cast.
As for other games/series in this sub-genre, I'm not an authority, and you're probably familiar with all the ones I am (King's Field, Shadow Tower, Wizardry, Ultima Underworld, Deep Labyrinth).
My gaming goals have been SHATTERED by the glory that is Tales of Legendia. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I love it when an unexpected game comes along and just COMMANDS my attention. I'm at 15 hours after two and a half days of playing.
Just like the Dreamcast version (without cheat codes) I'm eternally stuck at level 44 of Bangaioh.
After a few failed attempts at the final boss I thought I'd found a new strategy to hover in a corner and use Mami's relect laser to shield off the relentless missle attacks and generate 4x bonus/health swirl powerups.
This works perfectly until the boss goes invincible and chases me down wiping my full energy bar clean in a blink of an eye.
My heart rate is still elevated after putting the controler down a half hour ago.
Bangaioh rocks!
[Happy New Year everyone!]
I love Bangai-O, but I freakin' hated that last boss. After ten attempts, I used a cheat code (hey, dakidski, whaddya know) to beat him (which I *never* do), and as such, I feel I can't include Bangai-O in my Completed Games list. I'm sure I would've eventually beaten him (some day), but I was starting to hate the game, which was the last thing I wanted.
I still feel guilty to this day.
Haven't you noticed that I never ever post in 'completion' thread. I rarely finish any games, but I enjoy playing them nevertheless. I stopped playing when I got stuck at some circular symbol puzzle. My xbox broke shortly after, but next time I buy a PC I continue deeper into the dungeons.
Ah, yeah. That's what probably what i remembered. The rune drawing system never bothered me at all. I guess, I'm on the lucky few. :)Quote:

Well, I respect your taste in games, so I will check up on Shadow Tower, UU and Deep Labyrinth. Thanks.Quote:

happy new year.
dakidski.
edit. oh, another thing I wanted to ask you: How did you like Morrowind and Oblivion. How are they from a dungeon crawling perspective?
