The fear of the next clock beginning, combined with the search for clocks and the walking around usually wakes me up. Some nights I place a few in the hallway leading to the coffee pot. Over a period of time this disciplined my 'getting up routine'. These days I'm down to 2-3 alarm clocks and have no problem getting up at 6am.
For sleeping, I recommend you get your doc to prescribe Halcion, or other next-gen sleeping pills. Combine a sleeping-pill with a benzodiazepine, like say Xanax, and you're off to dream-land.
If you think I'm fucked up you should meet one of my female acquaintances: She has a alarm-clock built-in to her sleeping pillow. It vibrates and shakes while ringing.
If you can afford it, I would recommend a 'light-clock'. They gradually increase a certain wave-length of light on your face, which makes the waking process natural.
