Yep, and no patch out yet.
Considering it's been a year and a half for Oath in Felghana and the patch is just about to drop, I wouldn't expect Origin to be taken care of anytime soon. I mean, it'd ben nice, but realistically, these guy have lives, so we're pretty lucky for what we get, heh. Word has it that the PC version of Napishtim might (maybe!) get its patch as well in 2007.
When the patch lands, I'm gonna blast through Felghana and then think about how I feel about giving Origin a shot.
So far, I've only beaten Captain Commando and King of Dragons on the second Capcom Classics Collection in '07.
My frst game completed in 2007 -Twilight Princess (Gamecube version)
Issues
- The combat difficulty isn't balanced properly. The enemies' attacks are weak and the game provides way too many small hearts to regenerate. Because of this, there's little incentive to do side quests. I would have been more excited to find big heart pieces if the action was harder.
- I like the wolf parts but they would have much more enjoyable if I hadn't played through Okami a few months ago. Blame the timing of the game releases.
- The soundtrack is excellent but that's mostly because of all the classic Zelda tracks in it. The new music isn't anywhere near as memorable(except the forest tune because the first two seconds are ripped from from Shenmue).
Good stuff
- It has the best dungeon design in the series. They seem a bit more "organic" and not quite as much like dungeons for the sake of being dungeons. I actually think Zelda games in general focus too much on dungeons but when they're done this well, it's hard to complain.
- It has the coolest bosses in the series. Many are quite creative and the Shadow of the Colossus influence on a few of them works well.
- I love the world and style of the game.
- The new items and creatures you can ride are nice additions.
- Midna is the best new Nintendo character to appear in a long time.
- I was worried that its world size would result in a lot of boring travelling like Wind Waker but that's not the case at all. It's easy to teleport yourself around and there isn't a lot of empty space. Unlike Wind Waker, I enjoyed it beginning to end.
Verdict
I suppose my biggest issue with the game is that it doesn't revolutionize the franchise. Maybe that's an unfair desire but I want the series to try something different, to be more ambitious(I know the Wii version has new controls but I'm talking more of design).
Overall though, I totally loved the game. Ocarina was my favourite game in the series, and took its style and improved upon it, so I can't complain too much.
Giants over Steelers in Super Bowl XLI, 28-7. Big Ben got picked off 4 times, and Brandon Jacobs wore down & broke their D.
Nothing happened, not even a congratulations screen. Thanks EA!
Just finished Gothic 2.
Working on Guitar Hero II, and FFIX (now that I can play it on PSP).
The Longest Journey.
I never actually beat the game before and it struck me as a shitton easier then I expected. I did have to use the UHS site a couple times, but they all ended up being because I either couldn't see a pathway lost in poor screen design or because I thought a puzzle was more complex then it actually was. Now to finally move on to Dreamfall.
I was hoping to beat NFS:C today as well but apparently the game has decided that I don't actually need any cars more recent then the ones I unlocked at the beginning of the game, so I'm kinda stuck. Ah well.
