Maybe it had just switched to a subset of your contacts, like favourites or recently called or something?
Nope. My favorites were missing and so was everyone I called. Literally the only contacts I had were Facebook numbers from people I've never talked to.
All I can guess is that something fucked up hard and wiped my stuff but it still had a backup of my numbers even though it wasn't set to do so, so when I merged with the cloud it fixed itself.
I had that happen when I tried the Facebook business. I fixed it by deleting the FB app and never using Facebook ever again.
That is probably the best plan.
The new view for the music app sucks ten million dicks.
