That's an improvement. Still shouldn't be made though.
This is pretty great news, really. The writing in Ghostbusters is just... immeasurably brilliant. Even to the point that I don't even think Ramis and Ackroyd have it in them to top it.
Honestly, when you think about it the humor of Ghostbusters and The Office aren't too far apart--they are both smart and rely heavily on dialogue.
Fuck it. I like it.
*edit: I like this more than Apatow and Rogen doing it. While I like both of them, I just don't seeing their style meshing very well with Ghostbusters.
Girlfriend + me = about $16 + she'll probably want popcorn. She wants to see it too and there's no way I'm getting out of seeing it without her, plus I don't like going to theaters by myself anyway.
As for IMAX, the only theater we have in this city is owned by the Science Center and they refuse to play anything besides Discovery Channel specials. I've been there once when they opened and I think showed Fantasia, haven't had a reason to go back since.
This is fucking awesome news!
I am looking forward to this sooooo much. Ghostbusters was my favorite anything as a kid. Loved it more than any comic book, tv show, movie, cartoon etc.
Fuck yeah man, fuck yeah....
edit: I think The Office writers are a good fit. I think the writing on that show is really clever, and they evidently already have a working relationship with Ramis.
Wasn't it heavily rumored that everyone wanted to do this except Murray? Or was that just for the videogame?
That was Akroyd's "Ghostbusters in Hell" thing. Which is just a pretty bad idea.
Maybe not Apatow or Rogen ...
but rather ... The two Office writers: Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky
