Why do you watch this show again? Shouldn't you be beating your son?
I watch the show in between the beatings :p
I approve. Carry on.
I thought it was a much better start than season 2. It also helped that it was the first time I watched a 'LOST" episode on a 60 inch wide screen in HD. :tu:
Great episode tonight. Lots of spoliers below for those that have yet to see it.
Good to finally see another Desmond episode. Tonight's was easily the most engaging and exciting flashback in the last two years. I thought it was pretty brilliant how the writers executed it, making it both a flashback but also teasing that Desmond may actually be shifting back and forth through time and simply seeing things that have already happened which I definitely prefer to the other possibility that everything on the Island being predestined ahead of time.
Two more things, Charles Widmore is a stone cold jerk and I wanted slap that old witch in the face for letting the poor red sneaker guy die. "Course correction" my eye. Speaking of the old woman, based on what happened with Juliet being recruited off island by Ethan and his associate (and assuming the time travel bit is a red herring), I also wonder if she was actually a Dharma rep pushing Desmond toward the island or...the smoke trying to condition Desmond as it tried with Eko?
Funny thing, right before I watched this episode with my brother, I commented that I hoped that if any major character dies this year that it's Charlie. But if it's "fated" to happen it would be less interesting, unless say, something such ashe dies because he really does end up saving Aaron and sacrifices himself.)
What's with TNL's distain for long threads all of a sudden?
EDIT: also this was a good episode. Good to see the Scots and Hurly again
So yeah, that was a great episode.
Lost has definitely sucked me back in and with the exception of last seasons finale this was the best episode of the past two seasons and next week looks even better.
Spoilers ahoy!
Got some Matrix/Butterfly Effect vibes from this episode. Not sure where you draw the above comment from because what was said does lead us to believe that everything on the Island is predestined. Everyone on the island is there for a reason, nothing they could do would or could change that. Desmond presumably has the vision that the woman did, regardless of what he does "forces" will make destiny happen. Nice little twist on the "Claire is gonna eat it" towards Charlie, they really brought they mythical element back to the show.
