What if I bought a used one in 2007?
Then definitely don't vote, since we don't know the original purchase date.
Got mine on launch day at the retailer I was working for at the time, have had very, very few problems. Once, during a power outage/surge, the red ring blinked for a few seconds. I turned it off and on again, no problems.
Besides that, there had been the occasional freeze-ups during Oblivion, but none in the past few months at all.
I got mine in August 2006, and it's still running, although I've had GRAW and PDZ hang on me a couple of times. No red lights yet though.
*Knocks on wood*
I've had this happen to me too, but I think that's more Oblivion's fault than the console's.Quote:

I got one at launch and it crapped out on me over the summer. Now my second one makes funny noises with the fan, so it's just a matter of time before that one dies too. :(
This thread scares me.
As an apartment these guys got their first 360 on launch day and it died back in late September last year while one of my roommates was playing an extended period of Dead Rising. So the living room area is on refurb No.1. I got my own 360 for my room as a gift back in November of last year, so I should have another year with it until it gets old and dies like a hamster.
It better not
December 2005 purchase still going strong.
Oct 06. Not a whimper or stutter. I drape a pillowcase over it when I'm not playing. I do this with every console I own, and have never had one die.
