Anyone pick this game up yet? From the 2 reviews i've read(gamers.com and gamespot), the game sounds like good fun. Hopefully someone here can confirm the funness of the newest bomberman.

I guess some people like it ;)
If youre a Bman fan Im guessing this would make a solid rental and if you have friends to play lots of multiplayer with it would make a solid purchase.
Ha!
I had to go all the way to page 6 to find a thread on this game.
I bought it last night, and I am pleasantly surprised with it. The one player game is quite different than the one player game in previous Bombermans, with a lot more freedom of movement, different types of bombs, and Pokemon type things called Charabombs. (Disclaimer: I thought the N64 versions of Bomberman were rubbish, and never played them for more than a day, so perhaps some of these things were in the N64 versions).
Thank goodness that the old school battle mode is in, and not the crappy N64 style 3-D battle mode. There are also a bunch of cool variations for battle mode like coin battle, dodge battle, etc.
Too bad no online play. I liked Bomberman online for my DC, in fact, it's the last domestic game I bought for it.
I just got the game last night and am enjoying it immensly. The single player game is not what I expected it to be, but I really like it. You are thrown on a map and you basically have to get from point A to point B, but there are puzzles and obsticals and such in your way. The multi player is really fun. There are lots of different maps and modes of play. And I don't know if this happens in other versions of bomberman but when you die, you get to shoot bombs from the side of the screen and try to take out who took you out. It's a blast and is doing a fine job of filling time before Eternal Darkness comes out for my gamecube. It also gives me another excuse to use my new wavebird(i.e. best controller ever)
More impressions please, particularly of the multiplayer modes. Can you choose a top down view instead of the 3/4ths view? I would own this already if not for Morrowind, which has relieved me of the need to buy any more games possibly for the entire summer.
Thanks for the impression. I plan on picking it up in the next few days.
In my searches, I could not find a way to play top down. Regardless I wouldn't let that hamper at least a rental because the multiplayer is really fun. Alot of maps and different ways to play.
I am enjoying it.
