Why would you ever want to be friends with a woman you are no longer trying to sleep with?

I've remained friends with ex's before, but only because I wanted to fuck them. But I want to fuck pretty much every girl I'm friends with, so that's not saying much.

Sounds like you had a former stalker or something though. Especially being TERRIFIED? I've had a couple of inoppurtune times of having ex's show up at parties when Im with my current. Those are always awkward and slightly embarrasing. especially if the ex let herself go. "Did you date HER?"

B) You both realized it wasn't really working
C) There are no cheating stories that you'll find out about down the road

No if...

A) You hated each other before the end.
B) Your tolerance for hearing about the sexual escapades of an ex is worse than your tolerance for hearing about the sexual escapades of a girl you have a crush on
C) You have a problem with diminished chances to spend time alone or reminiscing, because the second either of you are dating those opportunities will all but vanish.
D) Your current fling doesn't hate her.

You can be friends, but there has to be some no-contact time and you have to bang out a few other people before that will happen. I'm friends with most of my ex's, but it took some time. In my experience, knocking boots occasionally down the line is also common.

If she's baiting you like that she's not trying to be friends, she just wants to know you care enough that she can get a rise out of you.

The only way I could see hanging out with her (right now at least) working for you is by going to that bar with her, and then proceeding to succesfully hook up with another female. If she genuinely wants to be friends, problem solved. If not, she'll get riled and end her shennanigans with a quickness and you'll be bumping uglies with her by week's end if you so choose.
