I bought Rez after reading all the hype here, played it a few times, and sold it. It's a decent on-rail shooter, but best game ever? Hardly.

Perhaps my mistake was that I played it while sober?

Man, potted plants are surreal on psychedelic drugs. It's hallucinogens, it's what they do.

Some years ago, my friends and I planned an evening of eating shrooms and playing a laundry list of games. When shit started getting weird, the games got surpringly boring so we went outside. Way better. The trees were melting and the traffic lights were squeaking, but the video games were just sort of confusing and irritating.

Therefore:
Rez on weed = pretty good
Rez on psychedelic drugs = overrated
Chrono Cross after five pills of oxycoton on a warm summers evening = much better
