Wavebird - Best Controller EVAR!!!

Except for the fact that it's a GC controller (damn those oddly shaped buttons!!!).


Seriously, the idea to make the controller work on cordless phone frequencies was FUCKING GENIUS! Sony and Microsoft HAVE to make something like this. Unfortunately, I only have one game for my GC right now (WMX8, which isn't even very good) since I already beat all the other (3, maybe 4) good games. If one of these is released for PS2/PSOne, I will be ecstatic. An X-Box one would be nice also, of course, but the Sony one would work for 2 systems, therefore making it more coveted.

Well, How many batteries does it requires? And I wonder how long the batteries will last, and how will be the quality of signal reception between the controller, and the receiver?

Plus, Did the Dpad still as sucky as before?

Agreed...this is the type of peripheral I've been looking forward to having someday. A wireless controller that actually works as good as a wired one.

It works so well that I could actually see the next generation of consoles using this technology exclusively. Can you imagine a video game console with no controller ports on it? Strange but potentially very cool.

Mad Catz makes a pretty nice 900mhz Wireless controller for the PS2 that is quite phenominal also and the newer models of it have a much better D-pad than the older models

I just had to much trouble in the past with wireless controllers to take a chance on a new one.

Wireless pads would have to be the pack-in with a console before I would ever try them again.

I knew these controllers would be great! :) I'm betting that this will totally revolutionize things. Sit back and watch the 1st party wireless controllers start popping up everywhere.

Well, Read the review, and it sounds like a pretty cool pad. The Dpad still the same :(, but they claim that it works great, and has a decent battery life. The only thing missing is Rumble feature, but I'm not a big fun of it anyway.

Old wireless controllers were infrared. They needed a clear line of sight to the reciever. These new ones work like cordless phones. Have you ever had your cordless phone crap out on you when you were in the same room (or house even) as the reciever? These will be quite reliable I can assure you.

Yea, I've skimmed over a couple of impressions of the Wavebird, but I still stick with my initial "no cordless controller" clause.

I know I'm just being an old, stubburn bastich, but when I was young we didn't have none of these new fangled cellphone pads...up hill both ways in the...blah blah blah blah

then again we didnt have the "cd-rom" games and the "16-button controllers" but you changed for those. c'mon mate....CHANGE FOR THE WAVEBIRD :)
