PS2 Drakan: anyone love/hate it? Hell...anyone playing it?

I just recently got Drakan as a gift and had no idea what to expect, but what I found was very surprising. I am finding this to be an extremely remarkable title so far...it's not the most impressive game ever, but it moves very smoothly and has fairly nice visuals nonetheless. The gameplay is fine, but I really like the aesthetics of/and how everything just looks. The medieval setting, the design of the world and dungeans, the sound effects especially, and the theme etc. What do any of you guys think? Anyone like it, or dislike it? Why or why not? I'm very curious as to what you guys think of this game I would have EASILY overpassed but am just in love with right now. It's kind of like why people like Tail of the Sun, even though it's choppy and the visual aren't very good from a technical standpoint. I just love that game and everything about it.

Being a big fan of the first game I plan on getting the PS2 one. I have only played the demo but it seems like a very worthy sequel even though I think it's a little too similar to the first game.

I definitely recommend it to action/adventure fans.

really? What was the first one like? Are you talking about the SNES one or...?

Drakan: Order of the Flame came out for PC in 1999.

The new one is pretty similar except that it's designed for a controller in mind instead of mouse/keyboard. Plus it has different voice actors.

I prefer Rynn's control on PS2 but I prefer Arokh's control in the PC game.

Played the demo a few times, I plan on getting the full version soon, only thing that sucked was the loading but I guess it's worth it when you see the sizes of the levels. Great graphics and feels like Draconus on DC.

haha, god damn, that's right, I remember that game... =) That mode 7 was pretty nice back then though eh? I remember the game being hard and confusing n' shit or something...

Ok time to resurrect this biatch. I played alot of the demo from the jam pack funcoland sells and it's fucking awesome, the more I play the more I find new stuff and combat skills. This is now DEFINITELY on the must have list.

Well she has both a bow, an axe, a magical sword that spews lightining, a regular sword, some charging magical attack and so forth. She also has alot of mobility like backflips, sideflips, strafing, able to use the bow and arrow in first person, rolling, jumping you name it. I also saw some nifty spells like 'rejuvinate' and 'fire' when you go to the item/weapons/magic screen.

It's awesome riding the dragon because you have a easier way of travel, some cool air combat, and if you're low on energy or close by the Dragon will protect you. It's so fucking sweet and I'm only playing the DEMO!

Oh yeah I forgot to mention also you get armor and other add ons later on from what I've seen.

This game is the best of its kind that I've played (3D 3rd person action-adventure). If I knew it was this good I would have bought it the day it came out, and riding the dragon is quite fun and god damn it controls very well...that's something that could have gotten screwed up big time, but he's graceful and a pleasure to maneuver.
