NES problem
I can't get any of my NES machines to work. They all give me the same problem - the power just flashes on and off and they don't detect the game. Usually after a couple tries a game will work but not today, and not on any of my three NES machines.
I know it's not the games because I have tried a bunch of them. Is there an easy way to fix this problem? Do the consoles just need cleaning?

Are you using the same AC adapter?
-
Awesome. Thanks Regus.
I guess I'll be doing some pin adjustments.
-
I have tried various AC adapters so that's not the case.
The pin problem sounds like the culprit. Especially since the machines are doing it. Damn cheaply made hardware.

I think the best way to deal with troublesome NES carts is when it gives you an erroroneus screen, shift the cart around (to the left, to the right, push it back a little bit, pull it out forward) while pushing RESET each time you move it. I'm not sure how often people use this tactic but all my carts always work after a few tries with that.

That's exactly what I usually do Sqoon. But that tactic finally failed me.

Oh, then you situation seems much more worse now. Unfortunate to see that happen.
If that happens to me, I'd save up for a top-loader and sell the others.

Regus is right. If you're using an old VCR-style NES you need to replace the old 72-pin connector with a new one or follow the directions on that site. You can find new ones on ebay. Just about any old-style NES I run into no longer works because of the connector problem. Also, there's always top-loaders, if you don't mind spending the extra money...

I have the exact same problem, and no clue about this! Thank you so much for showing me that link, Regus, I never would've known.
I just chalked it up to old systems (both my NES' do that) finally breaking down...
