No, he was commenting on the fact that they're women and not completely feminine and weak. He does this all the time, and specifically with black women athletes. He's a bigot. This isn't an isolated incident, and it's far from the worst thing he has ever said on air. Why, suddenly, this causes an uproar is the only thing that surprises me.

Imus doesn't think before he speaks and nowadays that's really just a recipe for trouble. Most people have handlers, producers and time delays to keep this shit from blowing up, but not Imus. He's a holdover from a bygone era, and he's dodged one bullet too many.

You can all say it's wrong that people are upset, but don't make the mistake of bitching at the radio station (WFAN, I think) or FreeFM. They're just businesses who answer to their customers and their advertisers.

I realize the government has nothing to do with anything. People are fucking hyper sensitive these days about anything that comes out of someone's mouth that is politically incorrect. What happened to being allowed to speak your mind (in humor or in earnst) without having to look over you shoulder after you say it? Truth is, these are *words* and they can't really hurt anyone unless they let it. Why would I give a fuck about what Imus thinks of me? Fuck him. And fuck me if my skin isn't thick enough to take a joke or let his words bring me to tears.

This whole thing is a complete fiasco. And I don't listen to Imus at all. The guy has done huge amounts of charity work for many, many organizations and doesn't deserve to thrown on the barbeque like that guy's girlfriend was. And I'm sick of Sharpton and Jackson jumping on the bandwagon and soon as some white dude says something they don't like. Black people *REALLY* need better leaders than those two scumbags.

I love the blatant hypocrisy of the professional idiots Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. They show up at CBS headquarters to protest before Imus was fired on the same day the Duke lacrosse players that they wanted to hang have all chargers dropped. I forgot that only nappy headed hos could be done wrong.

I saw Slick Willy whining about this too. When three of the biggest morons on the planet agree on something, I don't even need to know what the issue is to know that the other side is the right one.

As I said in the Howard thread, I'm surprised that Howard predicted that he would be fired on Tuesday. I thought he was crazy for saying that--no way was Imus going to get fired for that comment. CBS didn't even wait for the two week suspension to fire him.

It was a small, vocal minority of a minority that made a stink. These were people who DIDNT LISTEN TO IMUS TO BEGIN WITH. If the media and Sharpton didnt make a huge stink of this those poor "injured" nappy headed hos wouldn't have even heard about it. I am sure 75% of the black community could give it a shit. I see more liberal white guilt in play here, than black outrage.

Dave Chapelle made MILLIONS making fun of race, and yet Imus makes a throwaway line and his livelyhood was taken away from him, and the guy was in the middle of a charity event for sick and dying kids of any ethnicity. Do we now have two sets of rules? One for Black people and one for white?

Where are the Sharpton and Jackson rallies for record labels to drop the mysognistic, violent "artists" that fill the hip-hop music industry? Why are black kids harrased at school for trying to learn, while drug dealers who buy $20,000 rims are idolized? Oh thats right, those guys are black, and donate to thier causes. They are just opportunitist that exploit thier race to keep themselves wealthy.

My guess is that the powers that be maybe have wanted to axe Imus for awhile, but never had a good way to go about it since he's supposedly some kind of "Radio Legend". This very minor incident happens, gets blown out of proportion by the media and activists, and they now have an excuse to finally get rid of the Cowboy Cryptkeeper.

His main mistake was not having a PR firm or a good lawyer to back him up.

Now he's just another "Nappy-Headed Ho"-Guy.
