Soul Calibur 4

If Soul Calibur wasn't far and away the best game of the dreamcast launch, and better than anything the PS2 had, for like a year after its launch, no one would even give a shit about this series.

I loved SC1, never even heard of anything about Soul Blade, and SC2 was the biggest letdown in years.

Soul Calibur 4 = I don't give a fuck. I'd rather play that "Soul Calibur Adventure" game for the Wii...even though I know its going to be horrible...simply because of the fact that almost every Wii title thus far has been horrible.

SC1 was by "Team Calibur" correct? They were back on board for the third one.

I didn't buy into the media hype.

Soul Calibur was actually the 4th game I'd purchased for my Dreamcast, and I didn't expect more than a button mashing Fighting Vipers style fighter. I really enjoyed VF and VF2 and couldn't imagine a 3-D fighter that would be on that level. Soul Calibur really took me by surprise. I'd popped the disc in, thinking I'd play about 45 minutes and put it away. Two hours later, I was still playing and having a pretty good time.

I really liked Soul Blade, that intro was gold. And SC was as far as the formula can go for this series.

I enjoyed soul blade, I had fun seeing all the endings and even some of those were interactive. Soul Caliber was even more fun, and looked very nice at the time. Add to that the TON of extras the put on it and me and my friends were staying up all night fighting or unlocking stuff.

I enjoyed SC2 for the gamecube, I didn't bother with the PS2 verison(which was the worst) and never played the xbox one. The new stages and unlockables kept me playing that.

SC3 I rented and it didn't seem as pollished as the others. I don't know if it was me but the sound/music didn't sound crisp and clear as the others, kinda muddy sounding. Plus there were some vocal glitches, but the build a character was neat. I mad Guts from Berserk and enjoyed playing with him and doing the tons of new extra stuff. I still need to pick this up since its 20 bucks or less now.

I made Gandalf and Harry Potter. Nothing beats watching 2 little fairies twirl their little magic sticks at each other while playing in a drunken haze on Saturday night.

Soul Calibur 3 was terrible.

I played some SC3 tonight and had forgotten how much I hated that game by the time I was done playing the first time I worked on it. Fucking trash.

That said, I'm willing to give them another chance. I'd like to see what we get with SC4.
