Sega Rally

ok, i know there has to be atleast 1 or 2 guys here that enjoy and love racing games as much as me, so let's talk about this AM2 beauty.

first off, this is easily one of the best racing games out there and is definatley worthy of being an AM2 racing game.

gameplay and level design is top notch and i still think this is easily the best Rally racer out there (although i haven't played much of Rallisport Challenge, that also doesn't seem like it's better than Sega Rally).

also, music is definatley awesome. i think AM2 did a really great job and making "pump you up" racing music. sounds a lot like Journey in some cases.

all in all, this game is amazing and i really wish there was more racing game fans here for me to talk about racing games with.

anyways, since this whole board takes it up the ass from Sega, im hoping we can have a great discussion about this awesome racing game.

loved playing it over the netlink, was never "let down" by "framerates" in part 2 and would kill to have a 3rd made for Xbox exclusively so it's not an enhanced "port" from another system. Rally Cross is good but imagine RALLY!

yeah, i remember hearing about a sequal being announced at TGS not too long ago, im reeeeally looking forward to it regardless of what console it hits.

the game is definatley gonna be worth picking up without questions asked. there's just nothing to doubt when AM2 is making a racing game. that is unless they sorta hand over the game to Amusement Vision like they did with Daytona.

still, im sure the game is gonna be nothing short of great when it finally comes out.

seen the new Colin 3 shots for the ps2? i look at those and wonder how great a new Rally would be. online play please :)

SEGA Rally is quite simply the game that made me love racing games! :)

Before SEGA Rally (and Daytona), I was pretty indifferent on most racing games. I thougt a few of the top-down ones were kinda fun (Micro Machines, Spy Hunter, etc), and I enjoyed games like Out Run..... but I never loved any behind the car ones.

But then I got Saturn and it came with Daytona and the SEGA Rally demo. I probably would not have bought the games otherwise, so I am sure glad that they came with the console because I fell in love with both games -- especially SEGA Rally.

Absolutely brilliant game. :)

I love the series as well. I personally like Rallisport a bit more, but SEGA Rally is still an excellent series, definitely one of my favorite racing series'. The level design and just overall fun factor and intensity is just great :) Oh, and SEGA Rally was made by Hitmaker :)

actually, the Sega Rally games were done by AM3, not AM2. But both are two of my favorite developers around...when Sega Rally came out for Saturn it completely CONSUMED ME. 3 tracks never lasted so long!

Yeh, that's a great point. Sometimes having a "short" game really gives you the opportunity to master the game and get the most out of it. Those 3 tracks consumed me as well....

But with SEGA Rally 2, it was the second Dreamcast game I bought and I really love the game.... but I still haven't finished it. Hehe. :p

I have never been a fan of Sega Rally. I think it plays waaaay to stiff. I could never get the car to control how I wanted to control it. I feel Rallisport just crushes Sega Rally in every way. Colin looks like an amazing game, graphicaly that is, not sure on gameplay as I have never played a Colin game before. But Sega Rally is one racing game I could not get into.

you must go out and play colin...simple as that.
