It's not about assuming that you're stealing. It's about demonstrating to prospective thieves that there's a good chance they'll get caught. Effective loss prevention programs allow businesses to pass on the savings to the customer; why would you be against reasonable loss prevention programs if you're not a thief?
All black people should get to be white for a day, just so they can learn that not every time you don't get what you want is racism. Even if some of the time it is.

That analogy makes no sense; stores aren't detaining everyone in the building if they don't turn in shoplifters. Checking receipts is just a more direct version of the anti-theft alarms at the door; are those offensive to you as well?
The beeping things are fine, but don't have some dude standing right next to them and asking for my receipt if the damn thing doesn't even go off. It doesn't make me like your store. At all.
