He got into Yale because he was a legacy and his family donated a shitload of money to the school. His "successful" oil company was bankrolled by his daddy's rich friends, and he was eventually investigated by the SEC because he sold his shares a week before the company posted losses in excess of $20 million. I'm sure his father being president at the time had nothing to do with the fact that charges were not filed.
