Yes, you can.
pwned
Are you saying having borders is somehow "constricting liberty"? Either we have a country, and decide who comes and goes, or we say fuck it and let anyone come and go. This only works if the people coming and going aren't shitbags, and of course some of them are bound to be.
The USA - just like every other country, has the right to decide who is an American and who isn't. In fact if it's governments job to protect us (which should pretty much be the Feds ONLY job), then it's their DUTY to determine who comes and goes and whether they are going to contribute or be a burden.
Hell, if I want to live in Canada they use a ratings system based on whether or not I am college educated, do I already have a job in Canada, can I speak English AND French, etc. I feel in NO WAY are they restricting my "right" to move about various continents freely, etc. It's THEIR country and hence THEIR call.
Back! Back to Stormfront.org with you!
Ron Paul waffles on immigration because he's going for the Republican base, but in reality most libertarians believe in open borders. The market decides the value of labor, so if companies want to hire migrants for slave wages then them's the breaks. They would say American labor has been overvalued and can't stand up to the competition.
No go a step further and ask an anarcho-capitalist and he'd say the idea of borders itself is antiquated and will eventually crumble due to globalization.
We're always going to have moronic nativists with us, crying about one minority coming in or another; Irish-Catholics, Asians, Italians, Mexicans, etc. But eventually those bigots will die out and the migrant population will stabilize and acclimate and become just another part of the American landscape.
I actually like what this guy is saying... And what it sounds like even though he is personally against gay marriage I don't think he would do anything to stop it, because that would be more government and not less.
globalization sucks
He's against gay marriage, but he has stated that it is ultimately up to the states if they want to allow gay marriage. But like you said, he wouldn't do anything to stop it. His stance is that it isn't the federal government's business. So yes he may be against gay marriage, but his policies don't oppose it.
I love Ron Paul. The only Republican candidate that won't cave in to the neo-conservatives. He's really not a 'pub, he's a Libertarian.
FREE THE NATION!
Exactly, and this is what makes Ron Paul such an ideal candidate for your country. He puts the philosophical and practical policies your country is founded on to use on a daily basis in the way he behaves. Look at what he's said and his voting record -- they match up. That's a great man, and someone everybody should be researching and telling one another about. Especially in a world where your current administration is being absolutely scary about the kind of power they have or want to control your daily lives.
In fact his grass roots following is gaining such good steam and momentum that ABC (the actual network) has been caught actually doctoring his poll numbers on their website to favor the "A-list" candidates in the running. It's sickening how everybody is trying to mould and shape the American peoples perception of what's going on by selectively picking out things they don't want them to see.
