Chibi Nappa digs deep and actually finds something to like about Bloody Roar PF :)
My Wavebird purchase earlier this week forced me to do a lot of Cube playing ('cause that little controller is just so darn spiffy). However, the only game in my Cube collection that had any real "play" left in it was Bloody Roar. When I first got this game I played about 1 hour before not getting anywhere and banishing it to my pile of shame. Well, it turns out these actually a thing or two to like burried in that mediocre fighting game. Silly me, I was trying to enjoy the actuall game the first time around. Since I suck at 3D fighting games, couldn't win the game, and didn't like how it played that tactic just didn't work. Now, being forced to play the game to experiance some Wavebird joy, I focused on just seeing the endings. More games need traditional cell animation cinemas as opposed to CG, by the way. I cranked the difficulty as low as it could go and proceded to pummel helpless computer victims. I finnally won, and.....Hey! What's this? I unlocked something. Hmmmm... Turns out there's a heck of a lot of really cool stuff to unlock in this game, including the best "kids mode" I've seen in a while. All the SD models look great. Especially that "unborn" whatever it is. Hidden characters, no ring boundaries.... Seriously, unlocking the extras in this game is at least 3 times as fun as playing the game is. I'm glad I finnaly found something to do with this game. :)
