You can also check out boston beer works; they brew Samuel Adams. You like chowder? If you do, there's this one place close to govt center famous for its chowder. Can't remember the name, but its the restaurant where JFK always went to when he was a senator in mass.
Isn't there also the Cheers exterior bar and the Cheers interior bar in Boston that people go to see?

Seconding this idea. Newbury St's pretty great. My budget food recommendation there would be Steve's Greek, on the corner of Newbury and Hereford. Amazing stuff. Occasionally hot waitresses. Sometimes hideous ones.Quote:

Faneuil Hall is surrounded by touristy shit, but there area is plenty nice to look at. Plus they have a Beard Papa. The aboveground Cheers is down there. Avoid both of them.
The whole Harvard Square area is pretty nice. I used to hang out there a lot earlier in school, but I don't have quite as much money to burn through now. There's a great boba place there called Boston T Stop with a SF2CE machine. My roommate and I used to go there a ton. Also a killer Thai restaurant called 9 Tastes, to just scratch the surface.
The Union Oyster House, the Pour House, The Publick House, Sunset Grill & Tap are all good ideas if you want to grab some food and some damn good beers. If you're looking for a great burger, check out Bartley's in Cambridge. If you're looking for burgers over a pound that will make you shit blood, check out Eagle's Deli at the end of the C line.
Chinatown's worth a visit, as is the North End. There's a bunch of good bakeries in Chinatown, and one of my favorite restaurants, New Saigon Sandwich. If you've never had banh mi before, it might be worth a shot, $2.50 for a sandwich and you can't go wrong. They're on Washington St. Used to be a straight shot through Stripper Alley (LaGrange St, really) from where I lived.
There used to be two strip clubs there on opposite sides of the street, The Glass Slipper and Centerfolds. Since they've been ripping up the edges of Chinatown to put in giant condos for rich white people, one side of the street had to go. The Glass Slipper and Centerfolds are now on the same side of the street.
If you're in the area, the 7/11 on the corner of of Stuart and Tremont is like a warzone. I've seen the guys at the register screaming at people for trying to sell crack in it, guys from clubs fighting each other, and hobos accidently lighting sandwiches on fire in the microwave. It's a good time. Sorta.
I never did the Duck Tour thing when I moved here, but I've always wanted to, kind of. The vehicles are cool, but I'm always annoyed when they drive by. I want to be that annoying guy.
The New England Aquarium isn't all that great, but it's a decent diversion, I guess. I used to go more often. The Museum of Science is even more expensive, but they occasionally have awesome rotating exhibits. The LotR one a few years ago was amazing.
If I could live in any city in the world, I would live in Cambridge.

Be sure to hit up Dorchester for the late night fun. It's just outside the city and you're guaranteed to have a good time.
Or if you don't feel like getting shot, you could do the Freedom Trail which is pretty much a walk through the city. You could hit up Boston Common and check out Paul Revere's house or the grave of Sam Adams (just like the beer) while you're walking.
The city really isn't that big. If you're looking for some International food, hit up the Somerville area for some good Brazilian food.
