I have been totally addicted to this game ever since I picked it up a couple of weeks ago for 15 bucks.
I thought I had a pretty good idea about all the domestic Saturn releases, but this game slipped right underneath my radar.
Awesome sounds, visuals, and some mucho grande sweet shooter action has me coming back to this title over-and-over again.
Anybody else have any thoughts/impressions/ideas?
Yes, it's a very good game. I saw it in Blockbuster Video on sale for cheap, so I picked it up, and I'm glad I did. I like the part in which you can destroy the links to the floating islands and you see them plummet to the ground.
It's nice to be able to destroy the enemy before they have a chance to attack. :D
Damn straight.
Interacting with background elements is key, and I love the multi-leveled feeing of the gameplay.
I just got to the boss on level six, so hopefully I'll have GA beat in the next week or so.
Hopefully sooner if I actually have some time to play games! :)

Whats up with that, from a board that is all up into shooties, and profess' it's Saturn love on a daily basis, I figured there would be a least a little more love than this...

I also missed the game when it came out back in the day. I read the review in GF, and it looked like a fun game, but I never had the chance to pick it up. But last year, when I was working on beefing up my Saturn collection, I got it from Ebay, for like $6 or so.
And what a fun game it is. Great graphics, I like the multi plave feel with enemy forces moving below you, and flying up to meet their doom :) It controls well, and has a very fun gameplay. Boss fights are fun, like that Invinsible ship, and takes some practice to get them right. Music is also good.
One of me favorite shooters ever. And the best in the series, IMO. So intense. And I love the fact that the better you do, the harder it gets. And there's lots of stuff to shoot at in the background too.
You must play it in tate mode at least once. A lot of the graphic effects were removed or altered in the "wide" screen mode. Lots of parallax and stuff like that. Awesome.

The difficulty changes depending on how well you do?
Maybe I should take a look at some faqs on GA sometime, because I've been so busy playing it, I haven't done much else.

I'm in the process of tracking down the other games in the series, but from what I've read the first one is still the best.
I'm positive of this. The more you kick this games ass, the more it gives you to kick. The last stage can be almost impossible.Quote:
