The game still looks like ass at 1920x1080 (well, in some part just because it's an ugly game). The game runs well and looks great on my PC (I run at a high enough resolution where I don't care about antialiasing) but you're absolutely right about the shitty interface. I particularly like having to press page up and page down to scroll through some text descriptions.

This wouldn't even really bother me if it wasn't for all that talk about PC being the lead platform. Worst company ever.

On top of that, it has one of the worst server browsers of all time. There's no way to really sort anything. Pings aren't displayed so it's pretty much a crapshoot.

AND opening the server browser locks up my game anywhere from 1-5 mintues. Failing to join a game means the whole thing starts over. This'll probably be fixed in a patch or it'll just go away on its own once the servers calm down.

AND it uses Gamespy so any existing Steam friends lists are useless.

AND it has all sorts of connection problems when trying to set up a private game. Good thing I love opening firewall ports and shit!

AND your characters are stored client-side. This doesn't really matter for console games since everything is protected. It's a disaster for PC games though. Cheating will be rampant, if it isn't already.

Fuck Randy Pitchford. At least it was cheap, kinda.

Competent companies make stuff that Just Works. Gearbox is obviously not one of them. Not with PC stuff, anyway. Oh well, I'll just have to remember this when their next game hits.

Got it on XBox, leveled to 9 in a few hours. Caved in so soon because it was part of Best Buy's deal, and because my friend bought it at the same time. Definitely the kind of game to play with friends.

John and I have this now, hit level 10 this morning.

It won't just be for Borderlands, but for stuff I'd like to play. I love playing shooters on PC (sans Call of Duty for some reason). I've just been neglecting them for two years or so. I'm LVL 18. Love the soldier class so far. The turret really helps in a pinch (as both support and offense). I'm glad I chose it.
