Tempest 3000 is Flat Out Wicked!
I was always in awe of Tempest, even since my first play way back in 1982. I loved the game so much that I had to own (which I do) the vintage coin-op. I could no longer hold out on playing the Nuon version – I just heard to much good about it.
Talk about intense; Tempest 3000’s retina burning neon colors and blazing speed at which everything is moving is simply mind-blowing. As the levels increase the webs morph, stretch and shrink from their beginning presentation into other geometric forms then back again. The varieties of web (playfield) designs (morphing and all), which have not repeated give Tempest 3000 that “I have to see the next level” drive.
Tempest 3000's new set of baddies (many of which I haven’t seen yet) are vicious, the Multi-Spikers that currently have me dead locked at a legit –71- are nasty has hell - making traveling down the tubes more perlious than ever.
Level: 71
Name: My Shed Is Oozing
Start Bonus: 1313480

Space Ox
Stealth Flipper
Multi-Spiker
Oh and the control with the Logitech “Nuon” pad is very accurate. A dial controller would replicate the original fell of Tempest – but in actuality is not needed because most the levels in Tempest 3000 are left to right (vert/horiz) playfields.
Anyway, Tempest 3000 on the Nuon is a kick ass game! I haven’t had this much fun since Rez.
