As if nobody speaks "off the record" when calling references.
I'd say, don't burn your bridges. Besides, 2 weeks notice is kind of shitty in the restaurant world especially with a cook. Be the bigger person.

You gave them you're 2 weeks notice. After two weeks pass, you no longer work for them. How are they going to tell you to come in when you don't work there? Don't stress it, you're good to go.
If you already have the new job .. fuck it. What are they going to do ... fire you? You already quit. You already from my understanding have a new job. Who gives a shit.
Everyone has made good points and good counterpoints. However, you gave them your two week notice so they were fully aware of when your last day was going to be. It is not your fault that the management failed at finding a replacement or finding someone to fill those shifts that they are almost obliging you to work.
You have gone the professional route and you should stick to it. You have clearly made up your mind about this matter anyway [referencing the poor management and your solid work ethic].
Enjoy your trip and be refreshed for your new job.
If they're shitty enough to do this to you then they're probably going to give you a bad reference anyway.
Take your trip, and enjoy the new job when you get there.
This whole deal seems kind of shady. Why would they even assume to schedule him past his 2 final weeks?
You should never flat out tell someoneInstead tell them,Quote:
No.
