I strongly agree.

If it makes you feel better, S&P is even more overrated than Radiant Silvergun, so at least it does overrated exceptionally well.
It does make me feel better
thank you.
I do get in a bit of a fluster anytime I read "overrated" in regard to some of Treasure's best designs. It isn't the games' faults that they're overrated, that is more the fault of pompous journalists and internet fanboys who try to play status wars over their favorite consoles or developers.
I'm just interested in playing fun games, and sometimes feel the need to defend a certifiably fun game when someone trys to knock it.
Well put.
I can understand someone saying that after playing the very first part (and ONLY the very first part) of the game. Running around in a field, shooting big snake-y things... more than a little Space Harrier-y!
But it ends there.
Anyway, I do agree that most of Treasure's titles are way overhyped, Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun in particular. I like Gradius V better than either one of them. However, outside of the occasional Treasure freak, I haven't really seen a lot of S&P hype outside of a glowing (maybe too glowing) review here and there. Still, it's a very cool game and despite how high VC prices tend to be, it is very much worth the money I paid for it. Overrated or not, it's quite a unique experience and it just so happens it's a good game on top of it.
