Your the only one.
I always thought it was kind of contradictory that the pistol from Halo 1 was considered so horrifingly cheap, so it was replaced with the Battle rifle, which is essentially the same gun with the same zoom and the same power, but it seems to be immune to the same criticism.
When I can I avoid the Battle Rifle, as it single handedly fags up just about every game type.
Doesn't make much sense to me either, but it is a 4 shot kill as opposed to three and the BR bullets do spread over range. Plus, I haven't played much Halo: CE multiplayer but I would imagine that the Pistol rapes absolutely every other non-power weapon.
I think most people just have a problem with the idea of a handgun being the strongest weapon in the game.
Yeah, most people probably don't. But they will if people start posting in it. :tu:
Hey, come play doubles with me.
You asshole I was going to read shit for tomorrow... but ok. lol
Eh I don't know. The Pistol was pretty cheap, (If you never played Halo 1, the situation was essentially from a distance it didn't give away your location) So if you can imagine a BR that doesn't leave a trail of bullets so at the right distance there's no way to find the shooter.
I personally just think there no need for a second weapon based on avoiding confrontation in the game (with both sniper rifle's obviously being the first). The point of getting headshots with those half-assed zoom weapons is to destroy people before they can react, and I think the BR, like the pistol does it a bit too well.
Also lets keep in mind the horror that Halo 2 became when bungie had to make it so everyone started with that gun because first guy to the BR was such a ridiculous overmatch if played a certain way. Nothing is more boring than watching two teams of BR whores firing at each other from a minimum of 100 yards away for a 15 minute team slayer match. Also of course nub comboing, which bungie's family members should fucking raped for ever supporting.
Finally got my captain...took me all day with a stretch of bad teams, but I got it whee.
Honestly, if I HAD to play Halo without a gun like the Battle Rifle/Carbine, I just wouldn't play. The new Assault Rifle is obviously way better than the SMG, but it's still a spray weapon and you can't help your teammates when you're using it. I don't really care if the gun has zoom or even if it can get headshots, I just want to be able to outshoot my opponents and come out on top if I have better aim.
