Review: Pirates! The Legend of Black Kat

Reno plays around with Kat. No, not THAT Kat.

After the totally abysmal Cutthroat Island by Acclaim, I kind of swore off any game that attempted to capture the pirate feel. That is, until I played Electronic Arts' Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat for the PS2. Make no mistake about it, while the game definitely has its flaws, it is still a solid and fun-filled adventure.

I'd agree with the rating but not with Reno's reason why. For me it was all about the ship to ship combat, it was simple but highly entertaining, while the missions on land were just there for me to find enough treasure to upgrade my ship and move the story along. Still, a cool little game that hopefully sees a sequel of some kind.
