Number one is a bit weird. John is obviously alive in this timeline so does Kyle really need to be sent back? John is already born and alive. This self fulfilling kind of time shit is what makes storylines fall apart. If Kyle isn't sent back in this timeline would John disappear in a cloud of smoke?

Number 2 is also a bit off. Remember the flashback (flashforward) scene in the first movie where the dogs are barking at the Terminator when it enters the bunker? Iirc that one didn't look like Arnold. I think it was the scene where at the end they show Sarah's picture on fire.

Why? John Connor, so far, is more important as a symbol and a rallying cry than as an actual person. How is doing something that would actually be interesting more of a 'Fuck You' to Terminator fans than repeatedly dragging out the Terminator name as a cash cow while adding nothing to the storyline?

But he will be sent back. The fact that John is alive proves that he will be at some point.

That obviously WASN'T a Model 101. Remember, the "T-800" just refers to the endoskeleton. The "101" refers to the template for the flesh covering, and all 101s look like Arnold. For example, in Terminator 3 Arnold was actually T-850 but he still had the Model 101 skin covering.

The T-800 in the bunker scene was probably a Model 102 or 103 (or whatever) flesh template, so it didn't look like Arnold, but like someone else. Remember, this comes directly from Cameron, who I think has the final word on the subject.

All those movies were spent protecting Sarah/John from the machines.I think it would just be a huge cop-out to kill John, make all of that a lie and just make him a machine. I think its better to know that his experiences fighting this shit and surviving for so long are what make him a great leader, not that he's running off a program and robotic body. Everyone knows a Terminator/robot can probably survive a war,shrug off bullets, and keep going, but its more interesting to see that a punk kid can survive this long and lead humanity to victory.

It doesn't make it a lie, it just makes this future different than the others. It's already different in a lot of ways. There's no canon for the future at this point.

I don't know what Cameron had to say about it, but I always thought that the Terminator in that scene was a T-600 and not a T-800. In the brief flash where he emerged from under the blanket, he looked human but especially in the scene where his eyes were glowing and because of the fact he was covered in a blanket leads me to believe that his human appearance was only superficial and not really good cover. Kyle said they had rubber skin and it could definately pass as human at a first glance with this kind of thing covering the exoskeleton.
