Yeah, I loved the demo. The crashes were spectacular, and the damage system effects the game so much that the replay/rewind feature is actually very welcome. At least until I get better at the game. I found the drift races to be pretty fun once I got the hang of it. I was absolutely TERRIBLE at it the first few attempts, but once I got used to stringing my drifts and the feel of transitioning from turn to turn I enjoyed it a lot more.
Day 1 for me.
I just picked this up and it's more than I expected. There are a tons of varied events in GRID. Besides the street racing, the circuit racing, and the drifting that were featured in the demo, there are also touge, open wheel (formula 3), and even demolition derby events. The lattermost are particularly amazing thanks to the fantastic crashes and great damage effects.
the only thing i hate about the game (besides drifting) is a complaint i have with pretty much every other racer but is compounded in this one because your car spins at the slightest touch. lets stack 20 racers all next to each other and have a street race. see the good line? good, cause the AI is droned to go exactly there too. you get so much as touched and it's 180 time.
This is on Steam now, if anyone's interested. $40
I couldn't get the PC demo to recognize either of my steering wheels... or my 360 gamepad. Definitely make sure the demo runs properly on your system before you buy the PC version.
Same here. I have no idea why it didn't work. The demo let me map all the controls to it but when I started a race, nothing responded.
