The Space Bar

The first and I think last Graphical Adventure I ever played was The Space Bar; basically you play a detective investigating a murder and your main means of doing so is jumping into the memories of the patrons of, you guessed it, The Space Bar.

I never actually finished the game, since I was 12 and the game was very hard/broken but it was one of the most awesome experiences in gaming I can remember. Now I'm wondering if that's because I was fresh to the the genre or because it was a good game that was under appreciated.

Did anyone else play this? Does anyone know how I could find and play this again?

Abandonware. Check Underdogs and the appropriate places.

I sorta looked, but with no positive results.

I've heard it was a decent game with a lot of glaring problems, but I've still always wanted to play it. I was in love with SegaSoft's website back then, all the flash games in the Mansion of Mirth, but I never got to play many of the games they put out. I still want to play Flesh Feast. :(

Wow... SegaSoft. I remember friend who used to run around with a Heat.Net t-shirt.

Ha! It was really easy to scam extra Heat.net starter kits. I have a billion of the dog tags lying around and at least 5 shirts in the shit I have packed up back in PA. Nice big free shirts for sleeping in.

Heat.net is where I first played anything online ever, I think through Quake 2. And hey!

I just reinstalled this yesterday since I figured out how to get it running in XP. Never played it before, seems great. Might try to beat it before Christmas.

I really want to hunt down Starship Titanic now. Space Bar also sounds fun. Could be a good winter for laptop gaming.

You got Starship working on XP? How? I want to play that.

I have been meaning to play The Space Bar again. I have played it before I didn't get into it last time. A Mind Forever Voyaging is my favourite text adventure so anything Meretzky deserves a second chance.
