Rankin-Bass is still the best Hobbit. They spent a goofy amount of money to get these live action movies this wrong.

I'd love to see a Compressed Edition that cuts the whole bloated mess down one ~three hour movie that covers what was in the book and nothing else. It might actually be pretty good.

The songs are what I remember most about it. I found them to be terrible, but I haven't watched it since I was a kid, so I may be remembering wrong. I need to watch it again.

I feel like they are 'of the thing'.
