This is pretty way off base. I'm from a mostly black area in southern VA, many places of which are lower income and it's still there is a very, very large republican population. If anything most republicans I know will point to their problems and say "See? Look at that. They need to get their act together." Or whatever.

I gotta disagree. Paper counting may be flawed but its flaws are diffused and spread through the whole system and don't point in any one direction, and the process is fairly transparent. There is a ton of potential for abuse in high-tech vote tallying and it's not offset by the free market principles that force banks to be fair and reasonable about online charges (to mention one thing).

Perhaps we should put marbles into a jar?
