That'll be the game I play next once I beat FF3, and I'm getting pretty close to the end now. :D
Saint's Row: I was finally able to start this because it didn't crash in my newer 360. I also finished it. It does a lot of GTA's things better and I hope Rockstar was taking notes.
Omega Five: Good game, not as difficult as I had hoped, not as "Dev A Team" as I hoped.
Rez HD: Fantastic port/remake. I still have to beat Direct Assault 6 times, Area 5 score attack and the Boss Rush mode (that shouldn't be too hard).
Conan: This game is pretty underrated, honestly. It's not as flashy as God of War 2 and it doesn't even look as good, but the combat is pretty sweet. I am almost finished with it.
Assassins's Creed: Amazing looking game. I wish it was not as repetitive, but I did finish every mission with 100% side quest completion. Not sure if I will kill all the Templars or find the 600000 flags.
Burnout Paradise: Criterion is probably one of the 3 most arrogant development houses out there. The game is still solid, though. I have a few challenges left for my Elite license. I don't know if I will find all the Billboards, etc, but I wold love to do some more challenges with TNLers.
Poker Smash: Fantastic game. Three people on the development team and a fouth person (a relative of the programmer) as the business manager of the company. The game is a perfect fit for Live Arcade, and people that don't buy it should probably be ashamed of themselves.
Gears of War multiiplayer: OK, not new, but TNLers still play this game. Despite the issues it has (and they are doozies), it's still a lot of fun.
This year I've started
1. Turok (360) - Single player is decent, raping things with the knife is fun, but the multiplayer I tried was rancid.
2. Devil May Cry 4 (360) - Beat the first 4 missions so far, really like the flow of the game and the combat is fun. Some of the platforming sections have been annoying though, and a few of the puzzles were just obscure enough to make me almost stop playing before I figured them out.
3. Oblivion GoTY (ps3) - I believe I started this right around new years, if not a day or so before. Plan on actually finishing it this time. Got about 49 hours in, level 27 Redguard. Not even close to finishing the main quest.
don't think I've actually "started" anything else this year, but have continued with many.
you just started all of these games? (joust)
In 08? Yeah
Well, except Gears MP, but I hadn't played it in forever or early as much as I have aready in 08.
And soon, I will start Culdcept Saga, Beautiful Katamari, DMC4, maybe Turok, and N+ or something. And The Club and Lost Odyssey in late Feb/early March. Lots of games to try.
2) I'm playing through Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria with the boyfriend. Mostly watching, but I do some level grinding for him, haha. He's not advancing in the story without me, so it's nice. The game is really pretty (never played the first) and I like the battle mechanics aside from dashing into fucked up level geometry/getting stuck.
Also, mad impressed with the subtle body language between Alicia and Silmeria. They do a good job of letting you know who is in command even if you don't hear the voice change. Cool shit.
3) Started Breath of Fire II, GBA. Had the cart lying around so I figured why not. It's not so bad but I hate everything being abbreviated in the game. I never know what the fuck I'm actually buying at a store.
Working on Ocarina on Time (N64) but pulled out the JP TMNT (Super Turtle Ninja over here) JAMMA PCB and beat it on 4 credits (zig zag jump kick ftw!).
I just started playing Rise of Nations. Between this, Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed I don't think I've played so many videogames at once since I was 12.
Rise of Nations is incredibly fun. Germany all the way, baby! The master race shall be exalted from the bones of our beloved Fuhrer!
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
So neat. I recognize a good number of the puzzles so far, but don't remember the solutions, so, awesome! It's really fun.
